Yutong Heavy Trucks Drive Shanxi’s Transition to Sustainable Logistics
As China advances its dual-carbon goals, Shanxi Province is accelerating the electrification of road freight, with new energy heavy truck adoption on a steady rise. With proven reliability, low energy consumption, and long range, Yutong heavy trucks are emerging as a go-to solution for local fleets.

Mr. Xin, a fleet manager in Xinjiang County, operates more than 200 tractor units, serving short-haul transport of aggregates, steel coils and coal, with typical round trips of up to 200 km. Following an evaluation of multiple brands, his company introduced 11 Yutong electric tractors equipped with 422 kWh batteries, alongside self-built charging infrastructure to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency. The trucks easily complete 200+ km routes without intermediate charging, while maintaining energy consumption at just over 1 kWh/km. Preferential access policies for new energy vehicles further enhance operational flexibility. Yutong’s after-sales network and driver training programs contribute to stable fleet performance. Therefore, an additional purchase plan is underway.

In Linfen, logistics operator Mr. Xing has recently deployed his third Yutong 400 kWh electric tractor. Since early 2024, he has been evaluating electrification as part of his fleet strategy. Compared with gas-powered vehicles, the Yutong model delivers daily operating savings exceeding RMB 400, or more than RMB 10,000 per month, with higher utilization further improving total cost of ownership.
The transition to greener freight is gaining real momentum across Shanxi. With robust vehicle performance and integrated service support, Yutong heavy trucks provide a practical and scalable solution for short- and mid-distance transport, supporting the province’s transition to more sustainable logistics.
